{"id":642,"date":"2026-08-24T02:21:04","date_gmt":"2026-08-24T02:21:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glow-r.com\/home\/?page_id=642"},"modified":"2026-08-27T17:41:29","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T17:41:29","slug":"glowr-manual","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.glow-r.com\/home\/glowr-manual\/","title":{"rendered":"GlowR Manual"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to use GlowR<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About GlowR<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>GlowR is a device that illuminates in response to commands sent from sources such as tablets installed at venues like sports grounds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GlowR features two operating modes: Normal Mode and Long-Range Mode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To use Long-Range Mode, all GlowR, GlowC, and repeater units in the system must be set to Long-Range Mode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You cannot mix Normal Mode and Long-Range Mode within the same system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While Long-Range Mode extends the communication range up to a maximum of 1 km, it reduces the communication speed by half to 250 kbps and introduces latency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please select the appropriate mode based on your specific requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mode switching<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you turn on the power normally, it will start up in standard mode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In standard mode, the background color of the title area at the top is white.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you turn on the power while pressing the button on the LCD display area, it will enter long-range mode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep the button pressed while turning on the power, and release it once &#8220;LONG RANGE MODE&#8221; appears on the display.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When it switches to long-range mode, the background color of the title area changes to orange.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please verify that the title area background color is orange on all connected GlowC, GlowR, and repeater units.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Explanation of the display<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Title screen. The background color is white in Normal Mode and orange in Long-Range Mode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Device number. When connected to GlowC, pressing the button on the device&#8217;s rear LCD panel registers the device and displays its assigned device number.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"610\" height=\"274\" src=\"https:\/\/www.glow-r.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/screenshot_2026-08-23_at_12.30.2780AFpm.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-620\" style=\"width:444px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.glow-r.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/screenshot_2026-08-23_at_12.30.2780AFpm.png 610w, https:\/\/www.glow-r.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/screenshot_2026-08-23_at_12.30.2780AFpm-300x135.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to use<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Connect the battery to the USB-C port and power on the device in either Standard Mode or Long-Range Mode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All GlowR, GlowC, and Repeater units used in the same group must be set to the same mode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure that the title background color is consistent (either white or orange) across all units.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect the GlowC to the iPad app or web app.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please refer to the respective manuals for instructions on using the iPad app or web app.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press the button on the GlowR&#8217;s LCD display in the order the units will be arranged (e.g., along a track).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The device is registered to the GlowC, and the assigned device number appears on the GlowR&#8217;s LCD.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform this registration process for all GlowR units.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once registration is complete, press the front button on the GlowC and verify that all GlowR units light up correctly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place the units along the track (or similar area) in the order of the device numbers shown on the rear LCDs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the system with the iPad app or web app.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to lock the device<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Glow R is a unit installed at venues such as sports grounds, and the number of Glow C controllers used to operate them can be expanded up to 32,000 units.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This capability allows multiple teams to share the Glow R units installed at a venue, or enables use in scenarios that a single controller cannot cover\u2014such as marathons, where each runner carries a Glow C.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conversely, there may be situations\u2014such as track events\u2014where you wish to prevent unauthorized access from other Glow C units.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In such cases, the lock\/unlock function can be used to restrict access to only those Glow C units that have been specifically authorized.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lock<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Launch the app and connect to the Glow C.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turn on all Glow R and Glow C units, then press the button on the back of each Glow R to register all the devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press the lock button in the app.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"627\" height=\"182\" src=\"https:\/\/www.glow-r.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Screenshot-2026-08-27-at-10.39.45-AM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-676\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.glow-r.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Screenshot-2026-08-27-at-10.39.45-AM.png 627w, https:\/\/www.glow-r.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Screenshot-2026-08-27-at-10.39.45-AM-300x87.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 627px) 100vw, 627px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&#8220;Lock ON?&#8221;
